SVEZA UV Color enters markets of North America and Europe
SVEZA is one of few manufacturers that use UV-varnish coating process for plywood, and the only one to offer an unlimited colour range and a choice of surface coverage rate. The company thinks that this product is the thing of the future as there is a trend in today’s world to abandon mass production lots and offer customized solutions to the customer.
Plywood of SVEZA UV Color is designed in association with experts of the Process Development Center (PDC) of SVEZA’s Saint-Petersburg Factory, and the Quality Technology Service in partnership with the Sweden varnish supplier, AkzoNobel. The product launch required no additional investments, a UV-plywood production line was commissioned in St. Petersburg almost 2 years ago. The process was developed exactly for this equipment.

“Our new product is a package solution for customers. We supply turnkey plywood which is ready for production of an end product. The process allows to paint plywood any colour under the RAL system which is an advantage over a film-coted material. It is much more convenient than to buy white plywood and then search for a contractor to have it painted, and choose colour and sheen for all elements of the item. Manufacturers of cabinet furniture and interior panels, that use plywood, are our main consumers”, says Natalia Petrova, Product Manager of SVEZA.
Reportedly, SVEZA started production of UV plywood in June 2019. The coating is applied in multiple layers each is UV cured. The whole process is automated as much as possible and is totally ecofriendly. The finishing coating, depending on the upper varnish, may have various features — from matted to high-gloss. The main use is furniture production, interior finishing and design. The end product of such plywood keeps its marketable state for a long stretch of time.
